Choose the right edition before the right subtitle
Search for the full movie or show name, open its details and compare the year. This matters for remakes, recuts and films with similar titles. A subtitle track made for one running time may not stay aligned with another edit.
The original-language label on Catflix describes the production. It is not a complete list of its available dubs. To watch Naruto with English dialogue, for example, inspect the audio choices on the edition you select rather than filtering the catalogue to English originals.
When captions are hard to read
Open the subtitle settings in the player you are using. If size, contrast, background or edge controls are offered, adjust them for your screen. A bright outdoor scene can make pale letters difficult to follow. On a television, test a line of dialogue from your usual seat.
Late, early or duplicated lines
First check whether two caption systems are active at once, such as the player and the television. Then check the selected language track. If timing consistently drifts, compare the edition or use a different offered track; repeatedly changing screen brightness will not solve a timing problem.
